XWRM-10 is a dual-channel 10A rated testing device with a winding resistance meter designed to measure the accuracy of highly inductive loads of transformers, reactors, HT motors, and other devices. The device has one current channel and two resistance channels along with a selectable smooth DC test current which is used to test windings with different ratings. It comes with a large open-circuit voltage of 42 volts for the fast charging of the highly inductive windings of transformers. It also provides stable resistance values in minimal time. The XWRM-10 is intended to replace a complex bridge set up with a single compact contrivance. The device is well protected against inductive kickbacks offered by inductive windings. XWRM-10 has a special feature to conduct heat run tests on transformers. The periodic sample readings of both the channels are stored in a special memory which can be uploaded to a computer system. The Windows-based software is equipped with features for the calculation of temperature and rise in windings from the recorded resistance values. The software can also be used for data management, graph plotting, analysis, and report generation. XWRM-10 can be operated with software too. It has an additional feature of detecting open OLTC conditions, thereby indicating the health of OLTC. The windings are automatically discharged after the test, for the safety of the operator.
Application
XWRM-10 is perfectly suitable for the measurement of cold and hot winding resistance of transformer winding. The instrument is designed for testing power transformers as well as distribution transformers. The data trends can reveal vital information about deterioration, incipient faults in tap changer and enables users to make informed decisions regarding maintenance.
